What Is RS Solid Epoxy Flooring?

RS Solid is PITLANE’s professionally installed solid-colour epoxy flooring system, designed for properly prepared concrete in garages, workshops, basements, showrooms and commercial spaces in Greater Victoria. The concrete is mechanically prepared and repaired before the epoxy system is applied directly to the slab, creating a smooth, seamless surface with a clean and consistent finish.

Unlike flake or quartz systems, RS Solid does not use decorative aggregate. The colour itself is the finish. That gives the floor a crisp, minimal appearance for any space where a clean, professional look matters.

The performance of an epoxy floor starts with the concrete underneath it. Every RS Solid project begins with an assessment so PITLANE Surfaces can determine the correct preparation and system specification before coating begins.

The concrete is checked for general condition, moisture, contamination, cracking and any existing coatings or sealers.

The slab is mechanically ground to remove any contaminants and create the correct surface profile for the resin system to bond to.

03Repair

RS Solid residential installations are backed by PITLANE’s 15-year limited warranty, giving you added confidence in the quality of the installation.

The warranty covers qualifying adhesion and installation-related failures when the system is installed over an approved, properly prepared substrate. Full coverage is subject to PITLANE’s warranty terms, care requirements and exclusions. Commercial warranty periods are determined according to the application and operating environment.

Is RS Solid an epoxy floor?

Yes. RS Solid is built on PowerCOAT CHEM100, a professional-grade 100% solids, solvent-free epoxy. The final system specification is selected for the concrete, traffic and environment.

How is RS Solid different from a DIY epoxy kit?

The biggest difference is the complete installation process. PITLANE Surfaces mechanically prepares the concrete, completes the required repairs and professionally installs the coating system. A kit leaves the preparation, application and final result to the installer.

Will a solid-colour floor show tire marks?

Solid colours can show tire marks, dust and scuffs more clearly than flake or quartz floors because there is no decorative pattern disguising them. If hiding everyday marking is a priority, PITLANE Surfaces can recommend another system.

Can RS Solid be made slip-resistant?

A suitable slip-resistant additive can be specified where additional traction is required while keeping the solid-colour appearance. No floor is completely slip-proof, and traction will vary with water, contaminants and footwear.

Can you install over an existing painted or coated floor?

Existing coatings, paint and sealers have to be mechanically removed before a new resin system goes down. That is part of the preparation stage. What is found underneath is occasionally a surprise, which is another reason the assessment comes first.
